We highly recommend Jenn and her team to potential wedding couples. We have had Cakes by Design cakes at weddings that we have been apart of and Jenn never disappoints. Creative designs and costumed just the way you would envision. And the taste of these cakes - nothing compares!!! We have also purchased delicious cupcakes, cakes and cookies for our own personal events and our expectations are always exceeded. A long time Barrie business that we are honoured to recommend!!!

My husband and I worked with Jen at Cakes by Design for our wedding cake. Jen and the team at Cakes by Design were very helpful in terms of laying out options, making suggestions, and helping us land on our choice of wedding cake. We appreciated the complimentary cake tasters Jen provided to help us make our choice. Jen made the logistics for the day of the wedding very smooth, which we appreciated. Our cake was beautiful, delicious, and we as well as our guests loved it!

Ordered a cake for my husbands 30th birthday and I will never order a cake anywhere else again! It was AMAZING!! the staff were super friendly and attentive and you can truly see their passion in their cakes. They went above and beyond and added the perfect details to the cake and we were all amazed at how beautiful it turned out. Thank you so much to the staff there and please if you’re hesitating, don’t. This place is amazing and you won’t regret ordering a cake from here. We will definitely be back soon

We’ve ordered a few cakes from cakes by design and have been happy with all of them. More recently I ordered a birthday cake for my dad and I was really happy with how the cake I ordered turned out. I got a red velvet cake with a cream cheese icing filling. It was delicious and looked amazing!

1 star rating. Paid over $200 for a cake for my daughter’s communion. Paid extra for buttercream filling and they didn’t make my cake to what I wanted and the flavours were mixed with flavours I didn’t ask for. I never had such a bad experience with a custom cake place before. I also gave 5 days notice as they requested and I still received a sloppy cake. I guess there is a first for everything. The owner of the business… shame on her for poor customer service couldn’t even give me a courtesy call to discuss the issues with my cake. Made her employees do all the dirty work for her. Never again.
