5 stars isn’t enough. Mike Van Slingerland was absolutely phenomenal. As someone from a Catholic background, being one of the first in our families to get married outside of a church was something we were initially pretty uneasy about. We wanted our ceremony to still feel meaningful, personal, and special, and we weren't really sure how to make that happen. We discovered Enduring Promises at a local bridal show and immediately loved the idea that we could essentially create our own wedding ceremony. Their online system was incredibly easy to use, and the number of options and templates available for every part of the ceremony was amazing. We were able to choose what felt right for us, edit it, add our own touches, and really make the ceremony our own. As we went through the process, we became more and more excited and comfortable with the idea. We then filled out a questionnaire about what we were looking for in an officiant, and Mike Van Slingerland was recommended to us. And honestly, we couldn't have been matched with anyone better. From the very first Zoom call, Mike was absolutely phenomenal. He immediately made us feel comfortable, answered questions we didn't even know we had, and made the entire process feel so easy. As the wedding got closer, he continued to stay in touch with us, scheduled another Zoom call, and helped us fine-tune our ceremony script so that it felt exactly right. One of the things we appreciated most was how accommodating Mike was. We were able to make changes to our ceremony right up until the morning of the wedding, and when we had adjustments to make, Mike was completely happy to roll with them. Nothing ever felt like a hassle. And then he absolutely NAILED the ceremony. Mike was funny, charismatic, enthusiastic, emotional, and incredibly passionate. He followed the ceremony we had created, but also knew exactly when to ad-lib and bring his own personality into it. He had the entire room engaged and managed to make the ceremony feel both incredibly meaningful and genuinely fun. You could tell that Mike wasn't just standing up there doing a job. He genuinely loves what he does, and that came through in every moment. He brought so much energy and emotion to our ceremony, and he helped create exactly the kind of atmosphere we had hoped for. Our guests had nothing but incredible things to say about him afterwards. In fact, one of the funniest reactions we got was when people were genuinely shocked to learn that Mike wasn't a family member or someone we had known personally. They couldn't believe that we had only met him through the officiant process because he felt so natural and connected to us throughout the ceremony. We could not recommend Mike enough. If you're looking for an officiant who will actually take the time to get to know you, help you create a ceremony that feels like you, and then absolutely bring it to life on your wedding day, Mike is your guy. If you’re considering David as your officiant there is no need to think twice. The best words I can use to describe David is charming, funny and joyful! Hard not to have a smile on your face when your around David.
