Vendor Spotlight: Sew Retro Alterations & Tailoring
Nervous about your wedding? Want your dress to fit you perfectly? Want to walk down the aisle with confidence? Then check out Sew Retro Alterations & Tailoring.
Business owner and operator, Nicole D’Aoust is, by her own admission, a tomboy at heart. Jeans, boots, t-shirts – the whole deal. But when she does βprettyβ, she goes deep. Lace, beads, trim, beautiful fabric. βI love working with pretty dresses,β said DβAoust. βAnd if Iβm going to get dressed up, Iβm going to do it right.β And she likes to do that for other people, too.
Intuitive by nature, Nicole is able to size people up as soon as she meets them. Itβs what differentiates DβAoust from her competition. Nicole knows people can get very stressed in the time leading up to their wedding. Her cozy setting allows customers to relax. βI tend to be laid back,β said DβAoust, βAnd I want my customers to feel calm and at ease while weβre working together. But I also want them to realize that my calm environment doesnβt mean I will lose sight of what Iβm working on.β
The bottom line for Nicole DβAoust is her commitment to her customers. βIβve got you. You wonβt leave my shop until Iβm happy and youβre happy. I work hard to alter dresses to suit womenβs individual figures and accentuate their assets. Itβs a balancing act. Part of that is being honest with customers about what a dress can and cannot do.β
Her ideal customer is a person who is open to the process of fitting the dress (or tux) to her (or his) unique body. βI want the dress to be amazing, one of a kind, fashionable and a perfect fit.β
