Bridal Contest 2023: Karla and Erick’s Unforgettable Dominican Getaway

Erick and I had just gotten married almost two months before when, much to our amazement, a remarkable opportunity presented itself. Bridal Confidential’s yearly Bridal Contest, in partnership with Group Travel by Susan, had awarded us first place: a luxurious 3-night stay at the all-inclusive Majestic Colonial Punta Cana resort in the Dominican Republic for our honeymoon.

Our journey began with Susan, the travel agent sponsor, who helped us book our fantastic getaway, marking our very first time in the Dominican Republic. Filled with romance, adventure, and cultural immersion, our unexpected honeymoon included a free 3-night stay at the luxurious beachfront Majestic Colonial Punta Cana resort, where we would soak up the sun and enjoy the beautiful beach. Thanks to Susan’s invaluable assistance, we decided to extend our stay for an additional 5 nights.

What made our trip truly exceptional were the remarkable experiences we enjoyed. Exploring the crystal-clear waters through scuba diving unveiled a mesmerizing underwater realm. Parasailing offered us breathtaking views of the coastline, while snorkeling allowed us to delve into vibrant coral reefs teeming with colorful fish. Swimming with dolphins fulfilled a long-held dream, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.

Yet, it wasn’t just about the activities. It was also about the friendly people of the Dominican Republic. We met locals who welcomed us with open arms, shared stories, and introduced us to the rhythm of merengue music and the taste of authentic Dominican cuisine.

Our unexpected honeymoon was not just a free trip, but a celebration of love and the unexpected joys life can bring.
