The food was bad, the drinks were watered down lacking any alcohol, the two restaurants for dinner were closed during my stay , the buffet/ hotel food gave me the runs all day last time I was at Breathless there were foam parties I was told they stopped doing them, and the gym was small and shared with another resort also the music was very predictable and the same playlist everyday. This was my fourth and final stay at the Breathless the overall quality has went down.

I recently stayed at Breathless Punta Cana for my birthday, and unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite live up to the excitement I had before arriving. The rooms were great. They were clean, comfortable, and definitely one of the highlights of the resort. The cocktails were okay, but nothing particularly memorable. One of my biggest frustrations was the entertainment. It felt like the same activities every day with just a different theme. The daily schedule was rarely sent out on time, and there was always a delay. Most days I had to go to the front desk just to get a printed schedule, and even then, it wasn’t accurate. Events would be listed, but some never actually happened, which was really disappointing. The food was another letdown. Unfortunately, it upset my stomach, and I spent a good part of my trip dealing with that. I don’t have a sensitive stomach, so that was really unusual for me. The one restaurant I truly enjoyed was Silk City, the hibachi restaurant. It was by far the best meal I had during my stay. I actually found myself preferring the buffet at Dreams Onyx next door over the buffet at Breathless. I also have to give credit where it’s due. The red velvet cake and the Black Forest cake at Spoon were both delicious. Service throughout the resort was inconsistent. The bar service was incredibly slow, and the front desk staff was not very helpful whenever I had questions or needed assistance. On the positive side, several staff members spoke English well, which made communication much easier. The towel attendant was incredibly sweet, and I also want to give a special shoutout to Donar, who assisted with an issue I was having when my airport transfer was delayed. His kindness and willingness to help were greatly appreciated. As for the entertainment, the DJ at the hype pool played what felt like the same playlist every single day. The Neon Party was definitely one of the better events, and I heard the White Party was a lot of fun, although I wasn’t able to attend because I wasn’t feeling well. Ironically, the most enjoyable part of my vacation was hanging out in the pool and meeting other guests. The conversations and connections I made there ended up being the highlight of my trip. I’ve been to many all-inclusive resorts throughout the Caribbean, and I completely understand that every resort has its strengths and areas where it can improve. I always try to keep an open mind when I travel. Unfortunately, this experience just wasn’t it for me at all, especially considering I was celebrating my birthday. I truly hope Breathless takes guest feedback seriously and uses it to improve the overall guest experience. The resort has so much potential, but better communication, more engaging entertainment, improved food quality, and faster, more attentive service would make a huge difference.

I recently went on a group trip with family and friends to Breathless Punta Cana, and while we had a pretty rocky start, we ended up having a wonderful experience once everything was sorted out. The Check-In & Arrival Process: The Wait & Lines: We arrived around standard check-in time in the afternoon, but our rooms weren't ready, and several members of our party had to wait about two hours. The lobby line was long, and with only two people at the front desk, it felt understaffed. Signage & Membership: There wasn't anyone greeting guests or explaining the layout of the lines. As a resort member, I would have used the member line had I known it existed, which made the wait particularly frustrating. Room Issues & Condition Upon Entry: Even after the wait, it was clear the rooms were rushed and hadn't been properly inspected before handover: Cleanliness & Maintenance: We found visible stains on the sheets, smudged fingerprints all over the glass bathroom door, and noticeable wear and tear throughout the rooms. While the outdoor grounds are beautiful and very well-manicured, it’s clear the rooms themselves have lost their sparkle and shine. We noticed paint drippings in several areas, including around the bathroom sink, the bidet, and parts of the bed's headboard. Safety & Upkeep: In another room in our party, the lighted vanity mirror was hanging off the wall with exposed wires (though a housekeeper quickly found an electrician who apologized profusely). On our outdoor patio, the hot tub was dirty and filled with tree debris. My Advice: The resort is clearly well-kept on the outside, but management needs to invest in the upkeep and deep maintenance of the actual rooms. Service & Recovery Kudos: Despite these initial hiccups, the staff's recovery efforts really turned things around: Housekeeping: The housekeeping team was exceptionally kind and helpful, immediately changing our sheets and addressing issues without hesitation. Management: Shout out to Carlos at the front desk. When we brought the room issues to light, he handled it professionally and sent a complimentary bottle of champagne and fresh fruit to our room, which we greatly appreciated. The Resort Experience (Once Settled): Once we got past the rough start, our family and friends truly enjoyed the rest of the trip: Grounds & Pools: The campus layout is lovely, beautiful, and well-manicured. There’s a lively main party pool near the outdoor stage and lobby area, plus another large pool spanning off to the side for a different vibe. Dining: We didn't get to try every restaurant, but Culinaria was excellent. Fair warning though: the portion sizes are very small, so if you have an appetite, you'll definitely want to order multiple servings! Entertainment: The resort offers great entertainment and fun energy overall. The Facilities & Treatments: I visited the spa twice because it was that great! It offers an incredible spa day experience featuring a water jet spa, a therapeutic foot rock walk, two saunas (including both a steam room and a dry sauna). I also received a massage and a facial—the staff working there were absolute professionals and amazing at what they do. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting! Important Tip (The Coupon Book): Make sure to ask for your coupon book at check-in. Due to the chaotic check-in process, our party didn't receive ours initially. We only found out about it by chance from another guest outside the buffet, which meant we had to make a special trip back upstairs to the main lobby to pick them up. Be sure to secure yours right away! While the initial room preparation and front desk bottleneck were disappointing—and the rooms are in clear need of a maintenance refresh—the hard-working housekeeping staff, Carlos's great customer service, and the fantastic resort amenities made up for it in the end. Once you get past check-in, it’s a wonderful place for a group getaway!
