You’re engaged, congratulations! How wonderful and exciting it is to start planning your special wedding day! There is a lot of time and effort that goes into planning that special day and who doesn’t want it to be picture perfect?
One occasion that should be just as special and some time and thought put into it, should be your honeymoon! This is the start of your amazing journey together as husband and wife or partners.

Decisions, decisions

There are so many beautiful places to go visit together, explore, enjoy or just go and relax. How will you choose? Ask yourselves: what do you like to do together? Do you like to explore, enjoy learning by visiting historical sites, enjoy good food, the beach or more of a pool person, a foodie and or just enjoy everything nature has to offer? Yet, there are couples who want all of the above. With the right destination and tour, couples can have it all!

Narrowing it down to what you both agree on doing will make it easier. Figure out what budget you will put aside for your honeymoon. It may be your first lavish trip together before you decide to settle down and start a family. Decide the length: one week, two weeks or perhaps 10 days. Some couples have taken a month to explore different destinations together. Having all these details will help determine where the best place will be for you both.

All-inclusive

Many couples prefer the all-inclusive to not have to worry about their food and drinks. By going to an all-inclusive resort such as Sandals, there are so many room categories to figure out, so having a Travel Agent’s help will ensure you are aware of everything the resort has to offer. If you want special pampering then adding the next level up with the different resorts will give you those extra perks that are so valuable, like premium liquors, special bedding, more opportunities for a la carte choices, perhaps a special pool area or beach, a separate check in area, a later check out time and even the opportunity of a Romance concierge that caters to honeymoon couples. The Barceló Hotels and Resorts offers the Romance concierge.

Cruises

Perhaps you are the couple that likes to see more in the time you have set aside for your honeymoon. That is attainable in a few ways. Cruising can take you to different parts of the world. You unpack once yet can cruise from port to port of let’s say the Caribbean islands, or in Europe from country to country. This allows you to see snippets of these beautiful places and if you really like a particular island or country you could make that your next travel experience to discover it even further.

If you particularly don’t like the idea of an ocean cruise there is always river cruising. It takes you along the shores of any given country to help you experience the landscape, the culture, the local wines and beers and their traditional dishes made fresh from local farms and markets of every stop you make. River cruising is an amazing way to receive top notch service and cuisine.

Tours

Guided tours are another way to visit multiple destinations and you just sit back taking in the breathtaking scenery via the coach or train. There are so many choices that will give you highlights of the country to learn of the history, its people, their cuisine, culture and music. Since COVID-19, the guided tours are much smaller and spaced out within the coach you are traveling on. They have put in place all of the required safe protocols to make it safe and clean for you to travel. They will only take you to approved destinations, make you aware of the requirements for you to be allowed with the small tour, the paperwork and documents required and this is where the Travel Agent will be a great benefit to you.

Exodus Travels is a prime example of a travel company that has implemented all the protocols so you as a traveler can feel safe and taken care of with all the clean practices put into place at each destination and while you are traveling to and from each area.

COVID-19 restrictions

Traveling together to your special destination is a great way to start your life’s journey together. The important part of traveling once you have made a decision is to follow the guidelines as to what is required for your travel. As per the Canadian government, for no quarantine, you need to be fully vaccinated at least 2 weeks before your travel date. Despite being fully vaccinated, there will be countries where you will still have to go for a PCR test 72 hours prior to your arrival and it has to be negative to be allowed into the country. This is constantly changing so you will need to keep up-to-date with government requirements for each country that you are planning on visiting. Many of the countries have a website that you will have to add your information along with your PCR test result.

It is highly recommended that you do not leave home without getting travel insurance and full coverage. These requirements shouldn’t scare anybody from traveling – it is just a new way we have to adjust to for you to enjoy traveling once again.

Working with a Travel Agent can help you start planning your perfect honeymoon! It is better to determine where you would like to go and put a deposit to hold it so you can get the dates and destination of choice. Then you won’t be disappointed if the resort is filled up.

Therefore, just like your wedding plans there are a lot of thought that goes into choosing a honeymoon destination. By pre-planning your honeymoon you will have a great start to creating lasting memories together and onward.
