What made you get into the wedding industry?
30 years ago this month my business partner and I (and mom) purchased a floral shop thatΒ I had been working in as a delivery driver for about 6 months outΒ of Art school.Β We did one wedding our first season in business and I loved the planning process and working with the clients to create a day that was specialΒ to them. I got the bug for weddings. Within a few months aΒ friend in the industry decided to retire her wedding dΓ©cor service business and approached us to see if we would like to take over her remaining clients and inventory. It was perfect timing and a great starting point to build our dΓ©cor business. 30 years later, we offer full service decorating, linens and so much more as well as our floral designs.
What makes you differentiate from otherΒ vendors?
LaPier’s Flowers has always been the people’s florist. Meaning, we accept all the wedding clients that we are able to provide services for. We accommodateΒ all budgets and can provide a beautiful wedding for the couple with $200 and for $20,000.Β Everyone deserves a professional for their special event, no matter their means.Β We are proud to serve everyone equally and strive to make each wedding as unique to them as we can.
What are the perks of booking with you?
LaPier’s has several bookingΒ features thatΒ have been a big selling feature for wedding clients.Β We offer a flexible security deposit. With the unpredictable world we live in, sometimes even the best laid plans can be interrupted. Our clients can move theΒ date withoutΒ penalty. Another feature is that we lock in pricing. When a client books by Dec 1 of any given year, we will lock in theΒ quote price for the following 2 years. No matter the market change, we will guarantee that price.Β Always a great value to the customer with the ever changing prices in the industry. What’s the coolest wedding you’ve ever attended?Β
I have had so many memorable weddings that I have both attended and/or decorated myself. I would think in the cool department, the weddingΒ that we decorated in Casa Loma in Toronto was up there.Β We also did a beautiful 3 day event in Niagara Falls for 500 plus guests at the Sheraton FallsView.Β We impressed the coordinator so much that he offered me a job on the spot.Β It was tempting and very flattering. But I love Corunna!
What is your favorite wedding trend of 2022?
Garden picked, whimsical designs with romantic candlelight and some linens.Β But IΒ admit, I am ready to bring back the glamour of theΒ past to future weddings and I always love an out of the box theme. Challenge me couples! I love a good challenge!
What wedding planning advice would you give engaged couples?Β
Plan early, do your homework before booking your vendors and stay true to you. So many couples get caught up in what everyoneΒ else thinks their day should look like. It does not matter who is flipping the bill, it is your day and should reflect your personality. Nothing worse than attending a wedding that does not reflect the couple.Β Regret nothing on your special day!Β Β
