in the last weekHad a gift certificate for the spa, used it for a couples massage. Service was great, staff are wonderful. The building itself, the common areas leading to the spa area however, seem a tad tired and could use some TLC. Spa itself tho is nice.

in the last weekWe stopped in at the Elmhurst this past Tuesday for dinner after hearing so many good things about the food. Upon our arrival we were promptly seated and immediately asked if we'd like a cocktail. Our servers Brenda and Peter were attentive to our needs all evening. The dining room was beautiful, providing those who eat here a glimpse into the past with its original architecture dating back to the 1800s. All three in our party ordered the prime rib special which we found to be a very good deal. They started us off with the caeser salad which we scored a 10/10. Super fresh romaine, freshly cooked oversized bacon bits, homemade croutons ( I asked ) and thin slices of high quality Parmesan cheese. Each of our portions filled a large bowl and left us full, as we did our best to finish it off Next came the prime rib with a side of au jus and Yorkshire pudding which was definitely the hit of the show. I was told by the Chef that they use locally sourced, hand selected AAA/PRIME grade beef and you could tell. Perfectly cooked to medium rare as requested and more than a generous sized portion as was the potato and vegetable dish that accompanied it. The prime rib was so moist and tender that like the saying goes you could "cut it with a butter knife". We finished our dinner off with one of their homemade deserts which I was told they were famous for. I had the tiramisu which was probably the best that I have ever had and my wife and son each had the caramel cheesecake which they both scored as exceptional! We finished off our dinner with an after dinner drink and a personal visit by Chef Philipe to our table following up on how our meal was....a nice personal touch. Overall our dining experience was a 10/10 and we've already made plans to rebook in a couple of weeks. I highly recommend making a reservation here to anyone looking for that special dining experience Ron Heleniak

in the last weekWent for brunch and a facial. The service at atmosphere were great - all the staff were pleasant, and helpful. The brunch was $48 per person including a mimosa and coffee or tea. The brunch was decent…omelette station, breakfast items, roast beef (perfectly pink but did not try it) , a pork option and a fish option. The smoked salmon was pacific which was very nice. The cheese options were terrible - marble and a non-distinct cheese of the sane texture and no flavour - expected better for the price. There were enough cold options and one soup. There was a chocolate fountain (did not try it) and at least 8 dessert options and a crepe station. The coffee was as bad as coffee can get. The 30-minute facial was $99 plus tax and it was just ok. The hotel and spa were very quiet which I appreciated.

in the last weekWe decided to indulge in the "Chef's choice menu" for our anniversary diner and it was delicious. Our server Jackie was courteous, personable, well informed about meal choices and gave us guidance on meal choices. Great meal, thank you chef!
