a month agoMy husband and I stayed at Hockley Valley Resort for our anniversary. We enjoyed the spa services, swam in the pool, had dinner at the restaurant Cabin, stayed in a studio room and delighted in the breakfast buffet the next morning. After using the hot tub, pool and sauna, there was a power outage due to an accident on a near by road. Although the power was out for about 1 hour, all of the restaurant staff worked very hard to get meals prepared and serve all the customers, once the power was back on. All of the food was delicious and we were impressed by the professionalism of the maitre d', chef, kitchens staff and servers. They kept their cool despite having to work under pressure. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend there and we will be going back for our next anniversary.

in the last weekThere were flies at least 7 and as fast as we could kill them they just kept reappearing in the room which was a little gross. Also as a person with allergies, I tried to ask for accommodations and was told to make a list of things I could eat. When I went back with my list, they said absolutely we can accommodate this in the morning. In the morning they would not and for a $50 breakfast I ate some eggs they did make and bacon. Very disappointed when I tried so hard to discuss this in advance. Otherwise, pool was great, gym was great, and they did have a Christmas market which was a nice addition. But for service, and room which are the basics of our stay it was a fail.

2 months agoStaff are wonderful. Rooms are large and clean. Food is good. The building has a lot of odd flooring with unmarked elevations. For the price point small details are lacking. A $30 a head breakfast with the cheapest coffee you can imagine is just one example. Tripping hazards and irregular veranda stairs are others. My cousins wedding was such an amazing time and again the staff are incredible. Outdoor ceremonies occurring simultaneously is another oddity where officiants have to compete with each other to be heard.

2 weeks agoTub was clogged and maintenance left a HUGE mess when they left - and the problem wasn't fixed. Coffee maker broken, front desk couldn't offer a solution. There was no sheet over the mattress. Only a top sheet and no duvet cover. Overall pretty gross. Tried to address this with management and it took them hours to contact me after I had left. Offered a comp for my next stay - but told me I couldn't use it on my next stay because I was booked over the holidays. I have stayed at hockley before and it was much nicer than this stay. I am booking my holiday elsewhere.

2 months agoWe went to this place in October to a birthday party. We booked the hotel 2 nights. The room and hotel had a lot of flies buzzing around. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were really nice, but they did not have any water at the gym or throughout the hotel. I asked the front desk and you could only buy water from them. The bar looked really nice, but the beer was $15-$16 a pint. Our room was right above a wedding venue and not ideal because we have young children.
