Business owner and operator, Nicole D’Aoust is, by her own admission, a tomboy at heart. Jeans, boots, t-shirts – the whole deal. But when she does ‘pretty’, she goes deep. Lace, beads, trim, beautiful fabric. “I love working with pretty dresses,” said D’Aoust. “And if I’m going to get dressed up, I’m going to do it right.” And she likes to do that for other people, too.
Intuitive by nature, Nicole is able to size people up as soon as she meets them. It’s what differentiates D’Aoust from her competition. Nicole knows people can get very stressed in the time leading up to their wedding. Her cozy setting allows customers to relax. “I tend to be laid back,” said D’Aoust, “And I want my customers to feel calm and at ease while we’re working together. But I also want them to realize that my calm environment doesn’t mean I will lose sight of what I’m working on.”
The bottom line for Nicole D’Aoust is her commitment to her customers. “I’ve got you. You won’t leave my shop until I’m happy and you’re happy. I work hard to alter dresses to suit women’s individual figures and accentuate their assets. It’s a balancing act. Part of that is being honest with customers about what a dress can and cannot do.”
Her ideal customer is a person who is open to the process of fitting the dress (or tux) to her (or his) unique body. “I want the dress to be amazing, one of a kind, fashionable and a perfect fit.”
